Indian weddings are fun, not only because of the rituals, but because of the traditional value they have. We give you a list to justify our point and to show how Indian weddings are amazing.

It all begins with:

#1. Rishta fixing (‘mummy ne meri tumhe chaai pe bulaya hai’)

A typical Indian shaadi begins with the ‘rishta fixing’ ceremony between the elders of the family. Would be bride and the groom meet and decide if they like each other or not. It marks the beginning of happiness, fun and food.

#2. Time with family

In today’s time we don’t get time to sit with family and enjoy. The best part about Indian wedding is that family come closer and takes out time to make list of guests, menu, for shopping and also for fun. You will see the family bond at the Indian wedding. It is like a festival for kids. They take leave from school and enjoy. Generations get to know each other. Children get familiar with the traditions and culture. They meet relatives whom they have not met since ages.

#3. Rituals (’mehandi hai rachne waali’ or ‘joote do paise lo’)

The fun time begins with the ceremonies. Mehendi, haldi, joota chupai is all fun. The mehandi of the bride is what everyone waits for. The tradition of writing the groom’s name with mehendi on the bride’s palm is the sweetest part. The post wedding ceremonies like finding rings in milk, mooh dikhai of the bride are exciting too.

Indian weddings are diverse, but the essence is same, i.e. the fun rituals. Indian weddings are beautiful and pure because of all the blessings given to the couple. The ‘Saath phere’ is the most important part and the ‘Saath vachan’ adds meaning to the wedding. The ‘vidai is another most memorable part of Indian wedding. The girl leaves her parents’ house to live with her husband and in laws.
