LINE Corporation, the company behind the LINE messaging application, has launched a new app that allows the users to share their location with contacts in real-time.
Available for Android and iOS, the app – Line Here – aims to make it easy for people to find out where their family and friends are or when their contacts arrive at a set destination, without having to message or call them.
The users can create a location sharing room to see where everyone in their group is on a map. Every room supports up to 200 members. Users can also create groups – basically virtual rooms for location sharing.
If the users do not want people to know their every move they can set a timer for how long app shares their location with contacts and in rooms.
Also, parents can set up Line Here to receive alerts when their kids arrive at home or school.
Aside from tracking the location of your loved ones, Line Here also allows users to register specific locations for reference and get push notifications when location-sharing members get near or move away from a particular registered location.
The app is free to use but the users will need to verify themselves using their Line or Facebook account to start using it.
