Louis Berger Bribery Scam: Former Goa PWD minister arrested

 Panaj: Former Goa PWD Minister Churchill Alemao was arrested in the wee hours of Thursday for his alleged role in the Louis Berger bribery scam. He was picked by the CBI earlier from his residence in Varca village for enquiry over the same. Crime Branch officers said Alemao’s role in accepting the bribe has been established and therefore the arrest. He would be taken for a medical check-up, they said. Meanwhile, the minister himself said that he is completely innocent. Former Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, who is also accused of accepting bribes from Louis Berger officials to implement a Rs 1,031-crore project, was provided interim bail until August 7 by a local court.
