Balvender Kumar assumes charge as Mines Secretary

New Delhi: Senior IAS office Balvender Kumar today took over the charge as Secretary, the Ministry of Mines, succeeding Anup K Pujari.

Kumar, a 1981 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre , was vice-chairman, Delhi Development Authority under the Ministry of Urban Development before taking over as the mines Secretary.

Kumar is a post-Graduate in Science and a Master of Philosophy in Botany.

He has worked in various Union ministries and departments including Textiles, Fisheries, chemicals and fertilizers.
