Kashmir Valley woke up to a ‘rocking’ good morning on Tuesday, as a moderate intensity earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale shook it with the epicentre in the Hindukush mountain range of Afghanistan.
No loss of life or property was reported so far.
More than 40,000 people had died in a 7.8 magnitude earthquake on the two sides of divided Kashmir that occurred on October 8, 2005. Geologists believe Kashmir is situated on a highly quake vulnerable fault line.
