Do you know who turns 15 today? Our very own tall, Junior B!
Wait, we aren’t talking about his age, we’re talking about his sojourn in B-Town. He has never really got much attention for his acting, and comparisons with his superstar dad have only made things worse for him, but nothing much has bogged Abhishek Bachchan down.
This day in the year 2000, Junior B had taken his toddler steps in the industry and he completes 15 years today as an actor.
Well begun, not quite
Jr. Bachchan made his acting debut in the drama film Refugee (2000) opposite Kareena Kapoor, but far from blowing the BO records, it blew the producers wallets! It was a commercial failure at the BO, but that was not the end, his string of flops continued — Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai (2001), Haan… Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya (2002), Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon (2003), Kuch Naa Kaho (2003), Run (2004) to name a few.
Although Abhishek’s career was full of many ups and downs but success touched his feet, with roles in ‘Yuva’, Bunty Aur Babli’, ‘Sarkar’, Dostana and ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kahena’ for which he has won a total of 6 awards. He did incredible job with these movies and was highly appreciated for his acting skills.
Love life, or pendulum?
As far as AB’s love affair was concerned, he once dated Bollywood actress Karishma Kapoor and on October 2002, at Amitabh Bachchan’s 60th birthday celebration Abhishek and Karishma’s engagement was announced but due to some reasons, it was called off in January 2003. Abhishek then met one of his co-stars and was deeply in love with her. We all know that she was none other than Aishwarya Rai and later Abhishek announced his engagement with Aishwarya on 14 January 2007 and got married on 20 April 2007. They married according to traditional Hindu rites of South Indian Bunt community. The marriage was held in a private ceremony at Bachchan residence Prateeksha which is at Juhu, Mumbai. Now the duo has a little daughter Aaradhya Bachchan.
