Hyundai unveils much awaited Compact-SUV Creta

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) showcased its new SUV (sport utility vehicle) Creta, which is likely to have its market launch on July 21 for the Indian market.

The launch of this above-4 meter SUV will mark South Korean auto maker’s foray into mass UV (utility vehicle) segment in the country.

The new SUV, which has adopted Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language of Hyundai, will be produced at its Sriperumbudur car factory, Chennai, and also be exported to various markets.

The Creta will launch in a total of four variants – Base, S, SX and SX (O). The SX (O) gets projector headlights with LED daytime running lights, 17-inch 215-width diamond-cut alloy wheels, chrome door handles, rear wiper and washer and wing mirror integrated turn signals.

The Creta looks like a smaller Santa Fe, and its design is sure to be appreciated by Indian buyers.

Creta will come in three engine options – 1.4-litre CRDi diesel, 1.6-litre CRDi diesel and 1.6-litre VTVT petrol. While the 1.4-litre diesel engine-equipped model will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox, the 1.6-litre diesel and 1.6-litre petrol-engined models will get a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmissions.

A leather-wrapped 3-spoke steering wheel rests in front of the ‘Supervision Cluster’, while vertical HVAC vents surround a 7-inch touchscreen AVN (Audio, Visual and Navigation) system.

Below the AVN system, is the fully-automatic climate control system, and below that Hyundai have provided generous space to store your phone or media device.
