Celebs go gaga over Yoga

New Delhi: Yoga might be an Indian concept, but the West and the celebrities aren’t shying away from it.

Yoga might be an old concept, but who says there’s no place for it in the modern world? Yoga is omnipotent, all-encompassing and spells solutions for the most complex problems. And who other than celebs would have the need to have a one-stop solution to all their lifestyle related issues?

Yoga is an much more than being the perceived Indian physical, mental, and spiritual practice or discipline. The ancient art of spiritual enlightenment has become a global phenomenon all across the global spectrum.

From Bollywood bigwigs to international icons like Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston and celebrity couples Saif Ali khan and Kareena Kapoor, everyone is using the art to manage themselves both on a psychical and mental level but also on a spiritual level.

A daily dose of 4 to 6 hours in the gym is an average for any celebrity. Handling the media pressure as well as keeping focus over long shoots is also a demanding task. Besides hitting the weights and the cardio fitness instructors also keep in check the mental baggage a celebrity has to manage.

In 2012, Jennifer Aniston stepped out for the premiere of her movie Wanderlust which had everyone lusting over her awesome bod.

Aniston owed a lot of the credit to longtime yoga teacher, wellness advisor, and dear friend, Mandy Ingber, for keeping her body, mind, and soul in tip-top shape. Ingber also works closely with Kate Beckinsale and a slew of other stars. Ingber’s Yogolosophy program (her Yoga DVD). Ingber said it was important for Aniston to develop a better connection to her mind, emotions, and body.

“She hadn’t been exercising much because she was overloaded with work for so many years, so it was really about grounding into her body during a major professional and personal life change. She works hard, but you also see her taking care of herself. She’s a career woman and a relationship person. We should have balance in all aspects of our lives! Always address all aspects of who you are” she added.

The results spoke for themselves. She rocked practically every red carpet dressed in a tight and toned look easy in a black satin bra and mini-skirt for the world to see.

Complete eight reps, breaths, three sets

One-Arm Balance

Works: Core, abs and arms.

Saifeena’s secrets

Bollywood couple Saif, Kareena use a form of yoga called Yin Yang Yoga or Partner Yoga to bond. Bebo got to know about Partner Yoga and how it helps couples to make their relationship stronger. She then convinced Saif to try it and soon he too got hooked. Partner Yoga creates balance, understanding and trust between couples. You’ve heard of people working out together but Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan are now doing yoga together.

The actress has been doing yoga with Payal Gidwani and Manish Tiwari who are also married. All along they performed the asanas separately with their trainers, but now they are together called Yin Yang Yoga or Partner Yoga.

Payal, who accompanies the actress everywhere, is busy with the yoga and wellness center run by her and hubby.

It was Payal who told the Kapoor girl about Partner Yoga sessions and how they benefited couples and made their relationship stronger. An insider added, “He has tried yoga but he’s more of a gym person and wasn’t doing it too wholeheartedly. It was only when Bebo told him about the importance of doing yoga together through Partner Yoga that Saif took it seriously.”
