Kabhi katti, kabhi batti — how Kangana-Deepika roll!

New Delhi: All is not going well between Bollywood divas Kangana Ranaut and Deepika Padukone. The two B-Town beauties, who gave back to back blockbusters up their stride, are now engaged in cold war.

Actress Kangana said on Sunday that her relationship with Deepika was one of ‘Katti Batti’.

Everything started when Deepika dedicated her Best Actress award to Kangana for her performance in Queen. But it is also said that Deepika is one of few actors who didn’t congratulate Kangana in person after she was named Best Actress at the National Awards.

Kangna, who had already decided to not attend any Awards night, did not take her act seriously and being unabashed as she is, she publicly claimed that it means nothing to her because Deepika could have acknowledged her work in person.

But soon, Deepika made a call and explained to Kangana that they had not been friends hence she did not make the call. But soon, misunderstandings were cleared when the latter made a call to Kangana.

“Deepika called me, and clarified that she had no personal equation with me to make a direct call (to appreciate her performance in Queen). Also, I explained to her how it would have been unjust for me to publicly acknowledge an award from her when I have decided not to attend any awards functions. It was an emotional and heartfelt conversation. I appreciate that she called me; she is truly courteous and very emotional, and I just love that,” Kangana said.

Everyone thought things might change after this, but it didn’t. It has become worse with time.

Recently, Kangana was seen at Piku’s success party but the two were never photographed together. Also, Deepika decided to give Kangana’s Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ (TWMR) screening a miss and Kangana returned the favour by walking out of the TWMR success party as soon as Deepika stepped in.

The story does not end here.

Kangana also rejected Salman Khan-starrer ‘Sultan’ as she thought Deepika might be roped in as the second actor. This is reportedly the second time Kangana has rejected a role opposite Salman, the first one being Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

However, Kangana clarified her reasons for not doing ‘Sultan’ and said it was mainly because of date issues.

But the ‘Queen’ fame stunned everyone when she chose Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Rangoon’ – starring Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan – over Sultan.

“I had already given dates to Rangoon and that’s why I couldn’t do the film,” Kangana said.

Be it whatever. Going by the past series of events between the two, one can definitely make out that the cold war is definitely on.
