Amazon India launches Global Selling Program for businesses

Date:

New Delhi: Retail giant Amazon has launched Global Selling Program in India, opening doors for businesses in the country to export to markets across the world.

Amazon is extending two of its products – Selling on Amazon (SOA) and Fulfillment By Amazon (FBA) to businesses of all sizes and scale from across the country to go global and showcase their “Made in India” creations and products.

It would start with their products listing on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk.

To start with, the programme allows exporting products in the apparel, home furnishing (including Indian handicrafts), jewelry, books, collectibles, sporting goods, handbags, shoes and health & beauty products categories, Amazon said in a statement.

Manufacturers and local brands can export their creations across these categories and take India to the world, it added.

“…Sellers on Amazon from more than 100 different countries around the world have fulfilled orders to customers in 185 countries utilising our FBA service,” said Amazon Director Global Sales Chad Goelzer.

“Our Global Selling Program in India is designed to assist Indian manufacturers and businesses to grow their business by leveraging Amazon’s state-of-the-art technology, world class logistics infrastructure and customer service expertise,” he added.

Selling on Amazon provides businesses of all sizes a international sales channel, with no product listing fees, no upfront costs of creating a website or setting up a physical store and secure payments infrastructure, the company said.

With ‘Fulfillment by Amazon’, manufacturers and sellers can store their products in Amazon’s warehouse; and Amazon packs and delivers the orders to customers, provides customer service and handles returns, it said.
