Beyblade all set to be made into a film

Date:

Los Angeles: Paramount Pictures is making a live-action movie about Beyblades which were the must-have playground toys back in the day.

According to Deadline, the studio has acquired the rights to bring the Hasbro spinning tops to the big screen with Mary Parent as producer.

“The Beyblade” was adapted into a series of animated television shows in the early ’00s during the height of its popularity, as well as video games.

The toys, which originate from Japan, were licensed by Hasbro in 2001 and have made USD 2.5 billion in revenue.

In some parts of the world, Beyblades remain popular, after a second generation Metal Fusion was released in 2009. There are also plans for another new range in 2017, which could arrive in time for the film.

A number of Hasbro properties have made the move to the big screen, including “Transformers” and “GI Joe”.
