Karan’s ‘students’ roped in for Shuddhi

Date:

It seems Karan Johar produced ‘Shuddhi’ is one film whose cast is unable to stick to the project.

Earlier, it was an ongoing struggle to confirm the lead pair. At first, Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan were supposed to play the lead, and then there was news of Salman being considered for the hero’s role. There were also talks of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone playing the lead pair.

However, before Johar could approach Ranveer and Deepika for his film, Sanjay Leela Bhansali had already confirmed them for his film Bajirao Mastani.

According to latest buzz Dharma Productions’ much talked next film Shuddhi, penned by Agneepath director Karan Malhotra is finally over.

The confirmation came from none other than Karan Johar.

Johar tweeted, “And finally..SHUDDHI starring VARUN DHAWAN and ALIA BHATT…directed by KARAN MALHOTRA..@Varun_dvn @aliaa08 @karanmalhotra21 @DharmaMovies”

Yes, Karan’s ‘students’ Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt will team up for ‘Shuddhi’, which will be directed by Karan Malhotra of the ‘Agneepath’ fame.

After Johar tweeted out the cast, Shuddhi was trending on Twitter. Salman himself congratulated Varun Dhawan on being finalised. He posted an adorable baby picture of Dhawan alongside.

There has been no word on why Khan has been replaced in the project, but no doubt this will be revealed in time.

After Student of the Year and Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania, this will be the third film of the duo, where both will be seen together at the BO.

Individually, both actors have mesmerised the audiences with their amazing acting skills. Varun proved this with his recent movie Badlapur and Alia is also proved herself with movie Highway and 2 States.
