NaMo to celebrate anniversary with ‘1 year vs 10 years’ slogan

Date:

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday met his senior ministerial colleagues to discuss programmes to celebrate first anniversary of his government.

A day after returning from a three-nation tour of China, Mongolia and South Korea, Modi held deliberations with Arun Jaitley, Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, M Venkaiah Naidu and Nitin Gadkari.

Issues related to celebrating the first anniversary of the NDA government on May 26 are understood to have been discussed during the meeting.

During the meeting, the prime minister told the ministers to spread the message about the work done by the government during the last one year, particularly highlighting the initiatives in the social sector.

He also reportedly told the ministers to fan out across the country to advertise the NDA government’s achievements in one year vis-a-vis those of the UPA government in 10 years.

The government will also publish a booklet detailing the government’s achievements.

Celebrations to commemorate the completion of first year of NDA Government would commence from the native village of Jan Sangh leader Deen Dayal Upadhyay on May 25 with a public rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Modi will address the rally at village Nagla Chandrabhan in Mathura of Uttar Pradesh, which is Upadhyay’s birth place.

The party and government will commemorate the completion of one year of its government as ‘Jan Kalyan Parv’ celebrations.

BJP president Amit Shah also met the Prime Minister in connection with the anniversary celebrations, sources said.

For the first time, the Bharatiya Janata Party had emerged as the single largest party in the Lok Sabha elections of 2014 by winning 282 seats.

The BJP-led NDA claimed a landslide victory by grabbing 336 seats.
