Srikumar Menon appointed Ambassador to South Sudan

New Delhi: Senior IFS officer Srikumar Menon has been appointed as India’s next Ambassador to South Sudan.

He is expected to take up his assignment soon. South Sudan gained independence in 2011 after seceding from Sudan.

South Sudan has some of the largest oil reserves in Africaand India’s ONGC Videsh Ltd has made investment in the hydrocarbon sector of that country.
