New Delhi: Protesting against the killing of a fellow driver in an incident of road rage, DTC bus drivers refused to run DTC buses on Monday. Commuters were stranded and had to face a lot of inconvenience because of lack of DTC buses on the roads. The strike comes a day after a 42-year-old DTC bus driver, identified as Ashok, was brutally thrashed by a motorcycle rider after the bus grazed the bike from behind in Mundka area. Reportedly, Ashok had an altercation with the biker who in turn beat up Ashok with a helmet. Ashok was rushed to the hospital by police where he was declared dead by doctors. The bike rider fled the scene before police arrived at the spot and is absconding. According to media reports, police have arrested the father of the accused. Meanwhile, DTC drivers on Sunday took to the streets to protest against the incident and gheraoed Delhi’s Transport Minister Gopal Rai’s car.
