Veteran Bollywood Actor Shashi Kapoor remembered at National Film Awards

New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee and Information & Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley, congratulated Bollywood’s veteran actor and producer, Shashi Kapoor for winning the most prestigious film award- Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Mukherjee and Jaitley were speaking at the 62nd edition of the National Film Awards ceremony held in New Delhi. However, Kapoor could not make it to the ceremony as he has been battling kidney problems for a while now and is wheel-chair bound. Though Kapoor was not present at the ceremony but the guests and dignitaries present at the event gave the veteran a thundering round of applause. He will be conferred the award by Jaitley at a separate ceremony in Mumbai. The date for the ceremony is not yet known. The announcement of Kapoor winning this award was made earlier this year on March 24.
