Sir JJ College of Architecture, Mumbai is considered as one of the foremost institutions of Architecture in India and is a recognised college of architecture all over the world.

This Institute was established in 1847 and was named Thomason College of Engineering. It was awarded the status of the first Technical University of free India and was renamed the University of Roorkee.

The Department of Architecture in National Institute of Technology, Trichy had a humble origin 21 years back. The department was started with just three faculty members and hardly any infrastructure.
