New Delhi: Indian author Amish Tripathi has gained fame quite soon as his first three books on Shiva, the Hindu god of destruction, have sold more than 2.2 million copies since their release spanning 2010-2013 and made him a household name in India. Now at 40, the Indian banker-turned-author Tripathi, already a bestselling novelist with a film adaptation of his ‘The Immortals of Meluha’ on the way, will release a new fantasy novel based on Hindu mythology. ‘Scion of Ikshvaku’, based on the mythological Ramayana, is his next venture into the world of mythological fantasy. In an interview with Reuters, Tripathi revealed that he was an atheist when wrote his first novel, ‘The Immortals of Meluha’. But he became a devout after writing the book. With fans already pre-booking copies of his ‘Scion of Ikshvaku’ online, it won’t be a surprise if Tripathi turns out another bestseller once again. ‘Scion of Ikshvaku’ is set to hit bookshelves on June 22, 2015.
