Hyderabad: Wasn’t it getting a bit boring out there? I mean, IPL and pure cricket? That’s not what the real deal is, is it?

I mean, come on since its inception, it’s gotten us pampered and spoilt, and without our daily dose of juicy tidbits, we don’t seem to be in a position to nibble and swallow food for survival. And now, after seven years of making it a habit, they suddenly say, “#Kthanksbye’? Really?

It was getting quiet. That’s when Big Boss Srini’s name came up and whipped up some magic. After the latest controversy about Mustafa Kamal resigning from his ICC position because Srini stole his thunder at the ICC World Cup final match presentation ceremony, Srinivasan disappeared.

It hurt, he being so grounded, so humble, so not noisy. The silence began pricking the ears. With the IPL underway, no slapgate, no money exchanging hands. Really, again?

So then, on public demand, Big Boss took the responsibility on his well-oiled shoulders and said, “Hey wait. Dig into my closet.” And there!

We found another one, lurking around in a closetful of well-kept secrets, stashed away for a never to be used purpose. Srinivasan seemed to have valued his Chennai Super Kings at Rs. Wait. Rupees five lakh. Yes, yes, we are talking about the same yellow-clad men, who smash the living daylights of their opponents. Yes, yes, the one led by the swashbuckling MS Dhoni. Yes, the whistle podu breed.

Rs Five Lakh, ladies and gentlemen. At this rate, even I could own an IPL team!

Turns out it was done, understandably of course, to pay less amount to the BCCI for converting the shareholding of CSK into a trust. If accurate estimates are to be believed, and these could be as accurate as they could get, CSK is worth $67 million, or for the Indian in us, Rs 400 crore.  That’s right.

From Rs 400 crores, to Rs 5 lakh, only Srinivasan could have taken the leap, or plunge of faith, in this case. This time, since the BCCI has been vindicated, it’s going to leave no stone unturned to ensure that it gets its due.

A milking cow and a minting machine is what they love, and anyone, I mean anyone who slips the moolah into their own pockets without sharing with them, will be punished.

For them, the BCCI, ie, the catchline is, ‘mummy ne sharing karna nahi sikhaya?’
