The 26/11 confessions that exposed Lakhvi

Date:

New Delhi: The release of LeT terrorist and 26/11 Mumbai attack mastermind Zakir-ur-Rehman Lakhvi from Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail brought to the fore Pakistan’s duplicity in dealing with the case.
It was the arrest of Abu Jundal that helped Mumbai police gather detailed information related to Mumbai attacks it also helped police to prove the involvement of Pakistan Army in plotting the 26/11 attacks.

The Interrogation report of Syed Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal accessed by NewsMobile, reveals that the Pakistani Army not only helped in conspiring the terror attack on Indian subcontinent but also followed lenient approach towards them.

The role of Pakistan Army came under the scanner when Mumbai police in its report identified 37 suspects including two army officers in its wanted list for their alleged involvement in the 26/11 terror attack plot.

The role of Pak Army officials were confirmed later after the statement given by Jundal to the security agencies.

It was also revealed that Jundal, a native of Beed, Maharashtra confirmed presence of Lakhvi in the control room based in Pakistan throughout the 26/11 attack.

In his statement to the Mumbai police, Jundal mentioned that Lakhvi also spoke to Pakistan army officer Major Sameer during the attack, clearly hinting at the active Pakistani Army support to LeT for the Mumbai operation.

Jundal also revealed that the attacks on India were plotted from Bait-ul-Mujahideen’s camp on the outskirts of Muzaffarabad in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), where the 10 LeT operatives who carried out the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist strike were trained.

According to revelations made by Jundal, the only Indian operative to be present in LeT’s control room which was set at Yaqoob’s office in Malir in Karachi, in. 2012 even Lakhvi’s arrest was stage managed by certain elements in the Pakistan Army.

Apart from Jundal and Lakhvi, five more persons were present in the control room who spoke to one of the attackers Abu Aksa on a satellite phone.

Interrogation report further reveals that after the attack, training camps of Bait-ul-Muzahiddin, Muzaffarabad was shifted to Dulai on Nov. 27, a day after the attack to destroy the evidence.

However, the revelations in the Jundal’s statement clearly show that after the 26/11 attack, Muzammil Bhat alias Yusuf Bhai, one of the mastermind received a call from the Pakistan Army official asking them to vacate the LeT’s Bait-ul-Mujahideen camp which was soon to be raided by Pakistan’s FIA on December 1, 2008. FIA was able to arrest Lakhvi, Mujammil, Abu Alkama and Zarar from the deserted camp.

Jundal further claimed that Pakistani Army claims to have raided the camp, but in reality the camps were deserted long before they were raided.

He added that the LeT operatives were arrested as if they were wrongly accused and the atmosphere was non-serious.

According to the security agencies, Jundal is one of the six handlers along with Lakhvi, Abu Alkama, Abu kahafa, Khalid alias wasi, Zarar, Shahid alias Nadeem and Zabiudin who guided the 10 terrorists during the Mumbai attacks from November 26-29, 2008.
