New Delhi:Â Delhi police special cell on Tuesday arrested Neeraj Bawana, Delhi’s most wanted gangster. He was arrested in a morning operation around 3:45 am from Mundka road.
He was in the wanted list of many states including Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar pradesh. He used to run his extortion business in outer, north and west delhi.Â
He had also helped Amit Bhoora in fleeing from Uttarakhand jail who was arrested two days ago by Punjab police.Â
Former Narela MLA Jaswant Singh Rana was one of his victim from who he had demanded Rs 50 lakh. He had threatened to kill him and family otherwise.Â
Several Congress MLA’s had pleaded to then CM Sheila Dixit for protection.Â
Bawana is involved in more than 100 crimes and was recently booked under stringent MCOCA.
He is the nephew of ex Congress MLA Rambir Shokeen.
Bawana had taken over the reigns of criminals after gangster Neetu Dabodia was shot dead in an encounter by the special cell in 2013.
