Bachchan family walks the ramp for Shabana Azmis Mijwan

Date:

Mumbai: It was a never-before-seen multi-starrer night when the entire Bachchan family – Amitabh, Jaya, Abhishek, Aishwarya and Shweta Bachchan – came together on one stage. And the one to pull off this casting coup was Shabana Azmi.

The Bachchan clan walked the ramp for ‘Mijwan – The Legacy’ – a collection designed by Manish Malhotra in support of the Mijwan Welfare Society (MWS), a NGO founded by the late Kaifi Azmi and headed by Shabana Azmi and Namrata Goyal.

The theme of this year’s show was influential persons from the film industry walking the ramp with their children, the ones who will carry forward their legacy.

“…The cause is bigger than the ramp. Mijwan is a small town in UP, and Shabana Azmi’s father came from there. Every year now Shabana conducts this ramp fashion show to collect money for the ver skilled villagers of Mijwan, who do exquisite work on clothes,” Big B wrote on his blog.

Several other B-town celebs also took on the glam avatar for the show. Fashionista Sonam Kapoor walked with dad Anil, as did Sonakshi Sinha with Shatrughan.

Poet Javed Akhtar too walked with director actor Farhan Akhtar. Shankar Mahadevan and his son Sid too made an appearance for the show.

Mijwan is in its fifth year now, and the show supporting the cause of woman empowerment continues to be a success.

Azmi thanked everyone for lending their support to the noble cause.

“Thank you for your support to Mijwan. Amitabhji Jayaji Shweta Abhishek Shatrughanji Sonakshi Javed Sb Farhan Anil Sonam Shankar Sidharth Richa,” she tweeted.
