Mumbai: The film is based on historian Gyan Prakash’s book ’Mumbai Fables’ Set in Bombay of the 1960s. The movie tells the story of a street fighter, Johnny Balraj, and an aspiring jazz singer, Rosie, played by Anushka Sharma.

Ranbir will be seen as boxer and street-fighter Johnny Balraj.
Where Ranbir is alongside Anushka Sharma, it will be interesting to see Raveena Tandon (after a long time) and Kay Kay Menon in supporting roles.
Filmmaker Karan Johar is said to play a villain role and make his acting debut with ‘Bombay Velvet’, which is scheduled to hit theatres on May 15.
