Kolkata: A crude bomb kept in a bag exploded near the Dum Dum Cantonment railway station on Friday, leaving two children injured.
A bomb disposal squad was rushed to the spot as there were two more bombs inside the bag found at the cantonment’s railway gate number 2.
Safiq and Saharukh were playing when they found the abandoned bag. As they unzipped the bag, they found a tiffin box inside. They tried to open it, but it exploded injuring the duo, Superintendent of Railway Police (SRP) Debashis Baig said.
The two injured children have been rushed to the R G Kar Medical College Hospital.
However, there was no impact on train movement, railway sources said.
