Govt may look into fresh evidence by NewsMobile

Date:

New Delhi: In yet another sensational revelation, the fresh Dawood tapes released by NewsMobile expose a Bollywood connect in key properties owned by India’s most wanted-Dawood Ibrahim.

The government may now look into the fresh evidence brought in by NewsMobile.

The tapes accessed by Newsmobile, following satellite surveillance by Western intelligence agencies, shows how he defies international sanctions.

Branded a global terrorist by the US, the Treasury Department slapped sanctions against his D-Company. Interpol also named him on the wanted list for cheating, Criminal Conspiracy and Organised Crime Syndicate.

In the tapes, Dawood claims he has interest in the biggest real estate ventures in Dubai, like the Dubai Investment Park and Tecom investments, to a 5 lakh square feet plot in the Sheikh Zayed Road. The road houses the Burj Khalifa, ande he also mentions La Dolce Vita in Dubai Marina.

Dawood demonstrates his muscle power and his desire to make a quick buck by settling property disputes when he asks his business financial analyst “to find quick work of 5 to 10 million.”

Meanwhile, on Thursday MEA spokesperson said its stand on underworld don Dawood Ibrahim was still the same and the fugitive gangster would be brought to justice wherever he is.

“Be assured that at some stage he will be brought to justice wherever he is,” Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said in response to a question about India’s stand on Ibrahim, brought to the fore after NewsMobile’s Dawood tapes exposed his presence in Karachi.

“Our stand about Dawood Ibrahim is still the same, that he is an absconder from justice. We have not forgotten what he has done, that is the Mumbai terror attacks,” Akbaruddin added.

NewsMobile’s Dawood tapes revealed the Don’s voice, 20 years since it was last heard, giving orders and thriving in Pakistan’s business capital.

Earlier, India’s Home Minister Rajnath Singh reacting to NewsMobile’s exclusive tapes on Dawood said, he’s on most wanted list, and India has already demanded Pak to hand him over, but although Dawood is important India would have to wait.

The Ministry of Home Affairs reacted tweeting that they “we will examine the fresh evidence”, while Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijuju said “Its time Pakistan handed over Dawood.”

Also, Shiv Sena dared the government to undertake an operation to capture the evasive underworld don just as the US forces eliminated terror leader Osama Bin Laden.

The Sena, a constitent of ruling NDA, questioned the point of following Dawood’s movements without initiating action against him.

“Dreaded terrorists like Hafiz Saeed and Dawood Ibrahim are living in Pakistan confortably and are under political care. We do not need proof to prove that fact. No other country except Pakistan can give abode to such people,” the Sena said in its editorial mouthpiece ‘Saamana’.

Dawood, India’s most wanted terrorist after Saeed, is the mastermind of the 1993 serial blasts in Mumbai that claimed over 250 lives.
