Major IAS officers reshuffle in AP

Date:

Hyderabad: With the cadre allocation of All India Services (AIS) officers more or less finalised following provisional allotment made by the Centre in last week December, the Andhra Pradesh government on Wednesday effected a massive reshuffle of IAS officers, giving postings to many who reported to the state from neighbouring Telangana.

As many as 35 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers got new postings in the exercise, including some changes at the top level, as per an order issued by state Chief Secretary I Y R Krishna Rao.

Krishna district got a new Collector in Babu Ahamed of 2003 batch who has been allotted to AP cadre.

The vacant Collector’s post in Srikakulam district has been filled with P Lakshminarasimham (2003).

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu took a junior officer P S Pradyumna of 2004 batch into the CMO and made him his Joint Secretary.

Anil Chandra Punetha (1984) has been made Home Department’s Principal Secretary in the existing vacancy.

Surprisingly, JSV Prasad (1987) has been moved out from the crucial post of Principal Secretary (Industries) and made Endowments Commissioner, a post he held a few years ago.

He will also be the ex-officio Principal Secretary of Revenue (Endowments) Department.

Neerabh Kumar Prasad (1987), who joined AP from Telangana, has been posted as Managing Director of AP Tourism Development Corporation and ex-officio Principal Secretary of Tourism Department.

Sumita Dawra (1991), who returned from a foreign posting in China, has been made Higher Education Secretary while Ram Prakash Sisodia, who was repatriated from Central deputation, has been posted as School Education Secretary.

Besides, Shamsher Singh Rawat (1992), who was a Secretary to erstwhile Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, has been posted as Secretary (Industries and Commerce).

Y V Anuradha (1993) will be new Political Secretary to the government in the General Administration Department.

As the Godavari Pushkarams are just six months away, the government appointed J Murali (2007) as the Special Officer to make preparations for the mega event that occurs once in 12 years.

Murali will also be the Commissioner of Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation that will be the main centre attracting lakhs of pilgrims for the 12-day event.

Seven out of 13 districts have got new Joint Collectors in the reshuffle, while all the major municipal corporations like Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati got new Commissioners.

Revu Mutyalaraju (2007) has been posted as Chairman and Managing Director of AP Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited at Visakhapatnam.

Another round of bureaucratic reshuffle is expected in the next few days after more officers join the AP cadre from Telangana.
