Washington: Sony has unveiled its Android powered Walkman ZX2 with high resolution audio playback, priced at $1,100. The walkman supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and is NFC-enabled, the company said.
Walkman ZX2, which was announced at CES in Las Vegas this week, looks like a smartphone rather than a music player.
Though it can access apps through Google Play, the device is not meant to compete with your smartphone.
The feature of the Android powered device includes a touchscreen and runs 4.2 jellybean version of Android operating system. The Walkman also supports Android apps that can be downloaded from its Play Store.
Sony is pushing the walkman as “the fruit of continuous refinement in high audio quality technologies.” The S-Master HX processor in the Walkman enables the high resolution audio.
