No Rekha Big B reunion in ‘Shamitabh’

Date:

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who stars with veteran actress Rekha in R Balki’s Shamitabh, said they don’t share screen space in the film.

At the trailer launch of Shamitabh, when Amitabh was asked about the cameo of Rekha, he said, “We don’t actually come together. It is a part of a sequence. When you see the film, you will understand the actual sequence and how it is portrayed. But yes it is always wonderful to have such great luminaries in the film.”

Their alleged love affair has remained a rumour as both the actors never accepted it in public. Though, Rekha has mentioned her admiration for Big B at times, Bachchan has remained silent over the issue.

The two shared a great on screen chemistry – which according to rumours remained off-screen too –which enthralled movie goers. The couple acted in super-hit movies like Silsila, Suhaag, Muqaddar ka Sikandar, Mr Natwarlal and many more.

Big B told reporters if the right story came his way he would love to share screen space with the Super Nani actress again. “Balki keeps threatening me that he wants to design a film. But let me see. If somebody has a story that is appropriate then yeah, why not,” he added. Shamitabh also features Dhanush and Akshara Haasan among others.

Amitabh said they recorded the dialogues first before shooting for the film. “The entire script of the film was recorded first, all the dialogues I recorded in my voice. When we used to shoot, we used to play the recordings and shoot. There was too much of work and we had worked hard for this film. Balki said do what I say and now after the film was ready, we again did the dubbing. It’s a different film for me as I have never done like this before and the credit goes to Balki.”
