New Delhi: IAS officer Anurag Agarwal will take over as new Home Secretary of Chandigarh and the Centre has approved his inter-cadre deputation from Haryana for the purpose.
Agarwal, a 1994 batch IAS officer, is now serving in his cadre state-Haryana.
The central government has accorded approval to the proposal for inter-cadre deputation of Agarwal from Haryana to AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories) cadre for three years for appointment as Home Secretary, Chandigarh administration, an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued said on Tuesday.
He will replace Anil Kumar, a 1988 batch IAS officer of Haryana cadre who was appointed Chandigarh’s Home Secretary in December 2011.
In an another order, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal for entrusting additional charge of the post of Director General, Bureau of Indian Standards to G Gurucharan. Gurucharan, a 1982 batch IAS officer of Karnataka cadre, is working as Additional Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs.
He will hold the additional charge for three months from November 28, 2014 or till a new incumbent is appointed, the DoPT order said.
