Las Vegas: Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC has updated its mid-range Desire lineup with the addition of a new smartphone. Dubbed Desire 826, the device was announced by the company at the ongoing CES in Las Vegas.
The Desire 826 smartphone will come in two variants (single-SIM and dual-SIM) depending upon the regions.
The Desire 826 sports a 5.5-inch 1080p display and runs on a 1.7GHz octa-core 64 bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 CPU with 2GB RAM.
Running Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with HTC Sense UI, the device sports a 13MP rear camera (28mm lens and BSI sensor) and 4-UltraPixel front camera. Powered by a 2,600 mAh battery, the Desire 826 comes with dual front facing speakers featuring Dobly Audio with HTC’s BoomSound.
The device comes with 16GB internal storage and is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card slot. Â Connectivity options on the Desire 826 smartphone include 4G (dual-4G), Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB. The thickness of the smartphone is 7.5mm and it weighs 155 grams.
The pricing of HTC Desire 826 hasn’t been revealed by the company, but said that the device will first launch in China and then the other Asian markets in early 2015.
The Desire 826 comes in two-tone colours including White Birch, Blue Lagoon, and Purple Fire. The smartphone has already been listed as “Coming Soon” on HTC India website.
