Washington: It was indeed a happy New Year for Taylor Swift. Her latest album ‘1989’ has emerged as the top selling album of 2014 beating soundtrack for Disney’s blockbuster ‘Frozen’ to second spot.
The 25-year-old ‘Blank Space’ star’s album sold 3.66 million copies after just nine weeks on sale. Frozen held the title for every other week in 2014 but in the final week came in second place with 3.53 million copies sold.
It is not the first time Taylor has taken the top-selling title. In 2009, her second album ‘Fearless’ took her to the number one spot, selling 3.22 million copies.
