Deepika Padukone has reportedly been approached to play the lead role in Sriram Raghavan’s Bollywood adaptation of novel “The Accidental Apprenticeâ€.
The Accidental Apprentice is author-diplomat Vikas Swarup’s third novel. He is the same author who wrote Q & AÂ on which slum dog Millionaire was made.
Swarup’s bestseller revolves around a girl with a low-ranking job whose life changes after a chance encounter with a billionaire. The story explores various forms of corruption in modern India.
Sriram is in talks with Deepika for the role of the protagonist.
He met Deepika to discuss the film. She reacted positively to the idea but the final talks will begin after his upcoming film Badlapur is out, the source said.
It is said Raghvan also wants to rope in Amitabh Bachchan to play the billionaire in the movie. “He believes that Bachchan Sir would be ideal for the role,” the source added.
