Patna: Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav’s grandnephew Tej Pratap will soon tie the knot with Lalu Prasad’s youngest daughter Raj Lakshmi. The engagement may be in mid-December with a lavish wedding being planned for February.
Tej Pratap has just entered Lok Sabha from the family stronghold of Mainpuri after Mulayam vacated the seat. This holy matrimony may bring together Mulayam Singh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party and Lalu Prasad’s RJD.
Tej Pratap Singh was born to Late Ranveer Singh Yadav and Mridula Yadav on November 21, 1987 in Saifai village of Etawah district.
The news of marriage coming days after the announcement that Mulayam and Lalu will come together to reincarnate the Janata Dal, is being viewed by the political class as the prelude to the mega merger that Janata Dal breakaways are planning.
The two party chiefs had split during the 1990s for leadership of the Mandal classes and Mulayam had even publicly regretted when Lalu vetoed his name for prime ministership in the United Front government in 1997.
The coming together of Lalu and Mulayam in relationship is likely to erase bitter memories of what happened during the 1990s.
