Renault launches Duster AWD for Rs 11.83 lakh

Date:

New Delhi: French auto major Renault on Wednesday expanded its product range in India with the launch of all wheel drive (AWD) version of mid-sized sports utility vehicle Duster, priced between Rs 11.89 lakh and Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The AWD will enable the SUV to intuitively access the road and constantly engage all wheels. It will come in shift-by-fly options of 2WD, Auto and 4WD. The car is mated to a six speed transmission.

To distinguish the 4×4 from its previous avatar, Renault India has equipped it with smoked headlights, gun metal finished alloy wheels and ‘AWD’ decals on the body.

On the inside, the newer version of this popular compact SUV now will be available with a three-pod instrument cluster, along with a sportier steering wheel, bright red and grey upholstery and a new centre console, borrowed from the Renault Duster Adventure Edition. The centre strip on its dashboard will now be grey in colour instead of the current beige.

The car is powered by the 1.5 dCi THP diesel engine with 110 PS@4000 RPM of maximum power and torque of 245NM@1750 RPM. It gets cosmetic changes to its exteriors and a new dash and seats for its interiors. It also gets a new infotainment system.

Apart from the above features, the Duster AWD will have an integrated 2-Din audio system with USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity. Safety features include the popular Antilock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist and dual front airbags.

Duster has been pivotal for the fortunes of the company as it has sold over 100,000 units in the past 25 months in India.
