New Delhi: Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott, who is on a two day tour of India, received a Guard of Honour at the President House on Friday.
Abbott, whose visit first accorded the status of a State Visit since Prime Minister Narendra Modi was elected, hopes to sign a nuclear cooperation agreement between the two countries, enabling uranium sales by Australia to India.
The Australian Prime Minister, who first arrived in Mumbai and later reached New Delhi on Thursday, will hold high level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday.
He will also meet President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice-President Hamid Ansari and other senior leaders.
