Old Gurgaon goes thirsty

Date:

Gurgaon: In this scorching heat, old Gurgaon has not received water for last few days. Residents of Bhim Nagar, particularly, have complained that they have not received a drop of water for the past four to five days.

“We are living at the mercy of some local people who are close to the area councilor. These people, at the recommendation of the councilor, manage to get some water tankers and we have to beg them to allow us to fill four-five buckets from these tankers,” said Preeti Singh, a resident.

MCG commissioner admitted crises of water in the city. “I agree that there is a severe water problem in the area and I have asked for an emergency meeting to be held on Wednesday to handle the serious situation. The problem of the residents is genuine and we are trying to provide some temporary solutions. We will increase the water tankers, to begin with,” said Praveen Kumar.

Technical problems from the side of Huda are resulting in water crises in the city.
