Market declares Modi the PM

Date:

Mumbai: The Lok Sabha elections are a month away, but the satta market has already declared the results. Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister with NDA touching the magic figure of 272.

However, BJP’s hard-nosed top brass do not want to be led by some gamblers; they have their own assessment to go by. While BJP is in a commanding position, Delhi BJP bosses do not seem to be none-too-happy at the prospects of an outsider coming to dominate them.

This could be understood from Madhu Kishwar’s complaint that the 160-club is trying to sabotage Modi’s march to PMO. They envisage a scene where BJP will get 160 seats and desperately need allies which Modi cannot win. This gives the Delhi bosses a role to play, reaping the fruit of the hard work which Modi did over the last one year.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement should be taken as a course correction rather than disapproval of Modi. RSS has every right to maintain its neutrality and independence, which Bhagat was asserting.
