New Nepal PM to be chosen on Feb 10

Date:

Kathmandu: Nepal’s parliament will hold polls on February 10 to elect a new prime minister, ending the political deadlock. After several attempts to elect a consensus prime minister failed, President Yadav called parliament to conduct the election through a majority vote.

If all attempts fail to instal a government, the only option remaining will be for a majority-based government through voting in parliament. Currently, Sushil Koirala, president of the Nepali Congress (NC), the largest party, is the sole candidate laying claim to the post.
