Several Injured In Knife Attack At Paris Central Railway Station

Paris: Several people were reportedly injured in a knife attack on Wednesday at the Paris Gare du Nord Train station.

According to French Rail Operator Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Francais (SNCF), the police allegedly opened fire on a suspected ‘dangerous person’, who injured several travellers at one of Paris’ central railway station.

According to a report by DW News, the police confirmed several people were wounded in the attack. Interior Minister Gerard Darmanin confirmed the attack, saying that the suspect was ‘neutralized’ by the police.

SNCF added, “The traffic is disrupted at the departure and arrival (areas) of Paris Nord.”

Emergency services intervened and the attacker was shot dead, the SNCF tweeted, adding that a security perimeter has been established but the station continues to operate normally.

French broadcaster BFM TV quoted by ANI added that the figure of injured stands at six.
