Maharashtra: Six dead, several injured after Tiware dam breached

Ratnagiri: Bodies of six people were recovered by civil administration after Tiware dam in Ratnagiri breached on Wednesday, causing a flood-like situation in 7 downstream villages.

Reportedly, as many as 22-24 people are feared to be missing.

12 houses near the dam have been washed away. A team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), police and volunteers are present at the spot which is around 275 kms away from Mumbai.

Meanwhile, the monsoon has hit Maharashtra and more than 20 people were killed on Tuesday morning after the rains led to the collapse of a wall in Mumbai’s Malad East.
