World’s oldest shipwreck found in the Black Sea

Date:

World’s oldest shipwreck has been discovered from the depths of the Black Sea and is being called the most technologically advanced research ever.

The wreck is believed to have been in the sea for over 2,400 years now and was found about 50 miles off the coast of Bulgaria.

The ship was found with its mast, rudder, a Greek 23-meter vessel, and benches – the researchers believe that the ship was a trading vessel.

The reason the trading vessel, dating back to around 400 BC, has remained in such good condition for so long is that the water is anoxic, or free of oxygen. Lying more than 2,000m below the surface, it is also beyond the reach of modern divers.

The vessel was one of many tracking between the Mediterranean and Greek colonies on the Black Sea coast.

Meanwhile, the documentary team of the British Museum is all set to screen a 2-hour-long movie on the same.
