Gurugram: In a horrific incident, a plumber smashed his wife’s head with a hammer and then slit his four-year-old son’s neck with an electric cutter at Haripura village in Haryana’s Fatehabad district.

The incident reportedly took place on Sunday. According to police officials the accused, Shravan Kumar, 30, used to have frequent fights with his wife Rekha Rani, 25, as he suspected infidelity.

After killing his wife and son, the accused went to a railway crossing near Mehuwala village to commit suicide by throwing himself in front of a train, but some villagers who chased him, overpowered him and took him to the local police station, deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Umed Singh was quoted in a report.

“We have arrested the accused and registered a case of murder against him, on a complaint lodged by his brother,” he was quoted in a report.

Police said Shravan married Rekha, who hailed from Rajgarh in Rajasthan, in 2013. His suspicion about her loyalty led to frequent fights between them, police said.
