An otherwise unthinkable image showing a falling octopus mid-air on a busy street in Qingdao has gone viral on social media. While another image showing a starfish stretched on a car’s windshield.

Residents shared shocking pictures of shrimps deposited on windshields. The rare meteorological phenomenon of marine inhabitants, including shellfish, octopuses, shrimps and starfish, falling from the sky happened because strong winds can lift creatures and ‘rain’ them elsewhere.

“I call it “seafood festival with a twist” take care of Qingdao!,” a Facebook user commented. While another one called it “your family’s dream meal”.After the freaky rain phenomenon, several took to Twitter.

“In #Qingdao where China’s ocean is close, seafood has been flyed due to heavy rain,” a twitter netizen tweeted.
