In a match between Tsvetana Pironkova of Bulgaria and Basak Eraydin of Turkey, the Turkish player observed to notice that she won the match. Playing Round 1 of the Women s’ Singles on Day 2 of the Istanbul Cup the latter was the winner.

Eraydin, who beat Pironkova 6-2 6-4, was already at match point but did not realise that she had won until turning back to serve and seeing her opponent walk up towards her – and the crowd was cheering her name.
