Opposition with PM Modi: Welcome step indeed

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assertion that the Chinese didn’t enter our territory and not a single post of ours has been taken during the all party meeting on Friday has sent out a message loud and clear to China that India means business and that there would be no compromise with the nation’s sovereignty.

Through the all party meeting PM Modi has not only been able to win over the trust of 1.3 billion Indians but has also successfully been able to get the Opposition on board despite some pointed questions coming in.

And this is exactly what will enable a stronger and mazboot India to stand up to any form of aggression from hostile neighbours. The stand taken by the Opposition, including some of PM’s fiercest critics including Sonia Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee and friend turned foe Uddhav Thackeray, in assuring their full support to the Centre is a very welcome development.

China will get the message now loud and clear that India stands together and speaks in one voice. Going forward, our political parties must ensure that they do not give any leeway to Chinese whispers.
