Fight Against COVID-19 Not Over Yet, Centre’s Advisory To States Rightly Underlines The Threat

As the mutant coronavirus strain brings a fresh wave of worry for India along with many other countries worldwide, Centre has issued a fresh warning to four states urging them to maintain strict vigil.

Underlining the need for “strict vigil” and “prompt action” to check the recent spike in coronavirus, union health secretary has written to Maharashtra, Kerala, Chhattisgarh and Bengal – which account for 59 per cent of all active Covid-19 cases in India.

While at a government level efforts are being made to ramp up testing and aggressively check the spread of the virus, the onus lies on us as individuals  to ensure that we do not let our guard down under any circumstance.

The fight against coronavirus isn’t over yet and the Centre’s advisory is a grim reminder to that very fact.
