Delhi hot on Modi wave

Everywhere you look these days you are greeted by an election hoarding. And tune in to any radio channel during your commute, you listen to candidates making breathless pleas to the masses. Delhi is in the grips of an election fever. April 23rd, the city goes to polls and on April 26th, we’ll get to know people’s verdict. However, the recent ABP C-Voter opinion poll has given BJP an egde. This is not surprising at all. Given the recent wins in by-polls too, BJP is buoyed and confident of pulling yet another victory in MCD elections. AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal has lately been embroiled in the election commission saga wherein he blamed EC of being complicit in tampering EVMs. This has not gone down too well with the public. People are tired of his conspiracy theories. BJP will not leave any stone unturned in blaming AAP and showing the CM in a poor light. Already, Kejriwal has squandered any advantage he might have had in the elections. And about Congress, it is best not to say anything at all. The party is in disarray and is unlikely to have much sway over the poll results. Also, with the recent Vijay Mallya drama that played out briefly on our TV channels but had a massive impact in burnishing BJP’s and especially PM Modi’s image – the MCD polls seem like a winning bet for BJP.
