Even as India works hard to ensure that there is no further escalation of the border tension, China seems to be in no mood of ironing out the strained relation.
While continuing with troop deployment along the border, China on Tuesday blamed India for the border tension and said border infra development “the root cause for tension between the two sides” and said neither country should take action that might escalate tensions.
Needling India again, China said it does not recognise Ladakh Union Teeitory “illegally set up” by India and Arunachal Pradesh. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had incidentally inaugurated 44 bridges on Monday including eight in Ladakh and eight in Arunachal Pradesh.
The message should go out to China once and for all that Xi and his lieutenants have no business to meddle in India’s domestic affairs just as Taiwan did while going ahead with its National Day celebrations with pomp and fervour despite China’s objections.
India is a sovereign nation and China’s provoking tactics need to be dealt with an iron hand at all levels – be it at the military or diplomatic levels.
