Zayn Malik and Calvin Harris fight over Taylor Swift on Twitter

Date:

Tweet war over Malik’s retweet gets ugly, Swift’s boyfriend jumps in to her defence

Zayn Malik, a British musician who was recently in news for his breakup with girlfriend Perrie Edwards has managed to grab the attention again.

This time it’s even more controversial!

What happened?

The feud between Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Calvin Harris and Zayn started when the 22-year-old singer re-tweeted a fan’s message that compared Miley Cyrus’ quote on releasing her next album for free and Taylor Swift’s quote on removing her music from Spotify.

Comparison:

The post made a comparison between Taylor and the more relaxed and chilled out pop star Miley Cyrus.

The post of Taylor read, “I’m always up for trying something. And I tried it and I didn’t like the way it felt. I think there should be an inherent value placed on art.”

It was compared with Miley’s post which read, “You know, I’ve made my money. If no one buys my album, cool,” she said. “It’s fine. I’ve got a house, and I’ve got dogs that I love. I don’t need anything else.”

The tweet described the difference between the two viewpoints as “astounding”.

Harris’ tweet:

After the post, boyfriend Harris defended Taylor and tweeted,
“You’ve made your money?” He tweeted at Malik. “Cool … f— the 99% of musicians who depend on these services to survive right? Yeah f— em.”
Harris criticized Malik’s career as a musician.

Referencing Malik’s success with boy band One Direction, Harris wrote, “While u kids are refresh voting teen choice awards there’s some poor f—er in a basement making your new favourite record trying to survive [sic].”

Support:

Seems like Louis Tomlinson and Nicki Minaj are preferring Calvin Harris over Zayn Malik as they have backed the Scottish DJ in his twitter spat with the former One Direction singer.

Meanwhile the ‘Anaconda’ hit maker showed her support by liking a fan’s tweet that mocked Malik for his re-tweet.
