Vladimir Putin Has No Plans To Attend G20 In India In Person, Says Kremlin

New Delhi: In a recent development, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov informed the Russian media that President Vladimir Putin will not be attending the G20 Summit in India scheduled to take place on September 9 and 10.

Peskov said the Russian President won’t be attending the summit as the main emphasis now is on the special military operation.

Earlier, the Russian President had also not attended the BRICS Summit held in Johannesburg, South Africa. Putin had attended the summit virtually. Russia was represented at the summit by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

The G20 Summit is scheduled to unfold on September 9th and 10th at the state-of-the-art Bharat Mandapam convention centre within the sprawling Pragati Maidan complex.

World leaders, including the likes of US President Joe Biden, Chinese Premier Xi Jinping, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and French President Emmanuel Macron, are expected to grace the G20 Leaders’ Summit.

The 18th G20 Heads of State and Government Summit in Delhi promises to be the culmination of a year-long series of meetings, discussions, and negotiations among ministers, officials, and representatives of civil society. The gathering will spotlight diplomatic discussions, policy formulations, and international cooperation while offering a platform for leaders to address the world’s most pressing challenges.
